Vatche Cabayan, MD, founded the practice in 1989, following extensive medical, orthopedic, and surgical training.  As a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Cabayan has proudly treated the industrial, occupational, and personal injury needs of patients throughout the greater San Francisco East Bay Area for nearly three decades.

Practice:

Born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1953 and a first generation immigrant to the United States, Dr. Cabayan has committed his medical career to serving the pain and injury needs of workers’ compensation and personal injury patients located throughout the greater San Francisco East Bay Area.  Dr. Cabayan graduated from McGill University in 1975, and subsequently studied medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (formerly Marquette University) graduating from that institution in 1979.  Thereafter, in the early 1980s, Dr. Cabayan went on to obtain advanced training in orthopedic surgery at the University of Kentucky and in hand surgery under Dr. Harold E. Kleinert at the University of Louisville.  He also received training in sports medicine at West Point Military Academy.

Following his medical residency in Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Cabayan established his practice in Pinole, California in 1989.  Over the subsequent decades, Dr. Cabayan expanded the practice to include offices throughout the greater East Bay Area, including current offices in Richmond, Vacaville, and Pittsburg.  An unabashed patient advocate, Dr. Cabayan’s substantive practice entails the treatment of patients with debilitating occupational, industrial, and other orthopedic injuries—at times involving multiple body parts.

Today, Dr. Cabayan and his medical staff continue to provide the highest level of medical treatment to the office’s patients, with a particular focus on returning the patient to the optimum level of life and work activities.  Dr. Cabayan treats patients with a multitude of orthopedic injuries and conditions, including such injuries and conditions involving the hand and wrist, elbow, knee, foot and ankle, neck and back, and hip and pelvis.

As each patient presents unique medical issues, Dr. Cabayan focuses on developing a personalized and comprehensive medical plan for the individual patient—whether that entails pain management, physical therapy, or, in some instances, surgical intervention. Dr. Cabayan also serves as a Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) for purposes of the California workers’ compensation system.
